Card review

KAST Review

The best all-round stablecoin card for most people. Free to start, available in the U.S., and it pays cashback in dollars instead of a volatile token. The trade-offs are custody (KAST holds your balance) and an FX fee when you spend outside USD.

How KAST works

You fund a KAST account with stablecoins or a bank transfer, then spend through a Visa card. Purchases in dollars draw directly from your balance; purchases in other currencies are converted and carry the FX fee.

Cashback is paid in USD to your card balance, up to each plan's monthly cap. KAST rebuilt its membership model in May 2026, so older reviews quoting higher points-based rates no longer apply.

Beyond the card, KAST provides USD account details (ACH and wire) and EUR details (SEPA), which makes it usable as a light stablecoin bank account for freelancers.

Who it is for

Good fit

  • U.S. residents who want a stablecoin card
  • People who want rewards in dollars, not tokens
  • Freelancers who need USD or EUR account details

Look elsewhere if

  • Anyone who wants to keep self-custody
  • Heavy spenders in non-USD currencies (FX fee)
  • Frequent ATM users

Pros and cons

  • Works in the U.S., which most stablecoin cards skip
  • Cashback paid in USD, not a platform token
  • Stablecoins load 1:1, plus USD and EUR account details
  • Custodial: KAST holds your balance
  • Cashback capped monthly and paid tiers are expensive
  • FX fee applies when you spend in non-USD currencies
FAQ

KAST, answered

Is KAST available in the U.S.?

Yes. KAST serves 170+ countries including the United States, which sets it apart from RedotPay and most other stablecoin cards. Eligibility is confirmed in the app at sign-up.

How much cashback does KAST pay?

As of October 2026: 1.5% on the first $2,000 of eligible spend per month on the free Standard plan, 2% on the first $10,000 on Premium ($1,000/year), and 3% on the first $40,000 on Private ($10,000/year). Cashback is paid in USD; some merchant categories are excluded.

Is KAST custodial?

Yes. KAST holds your balance, like a fintech app. If you want to keep your own keys, look at self-custodial cards such as ether.fi Cash or MetaMask Card.

What fees does KAST charge?

The Standard plan is free. Spending in non-USD currencies carries a 0.5% to 1.75% FX fee, ATM withdrawals cost $3 plus 2%, and Standard members pay $40 shipping for a physical card.

Ready to try KAST?

The closest thing to a stablecoin neobank with global reach. You load dollars, get a Visa card in minutes, and earn cashback in dollars rather than a volatile token. KAST also offers USD and EUR account details, which makes it useful well beyond the card.
