What zerohash does
zerohash sits behind the brand. A broker or app integrates its APIs and can then let customers buy and hold crypto, send and receive stablecoins, or access tokenized funds, while zerohash handles licensing, custody, settlement and compliance. It works in three areas: crypto trading, stablecoin payments and payouts, and tokenization.
In the stablecoin stack, it belongs to the pay-ins and payouts layer, next to BVNK and Bridge.
Funding and the Mastercard saga
zerohash raised $104 million in a Series D-2 led by Interactive Brokers in September 2025, at a $1 billion valuation, with Morgan Stanley, SoFi and Apollo-managed funds joining. Mastercard then held late-stage talks to acquire it for up to $2 billion, but zerohash chose to stay independent. Mastercard bought BVNK instead and, in May 2026, dropped plans for a minority investment.
CoinDesk reported in January 2026 that zerohash was in talks to raise $250 million at a $1.5 billion valuation, and in May that it was raising at a higher valuation. No closed round had been announced as of November 2026.
Trust charter and Tempo
zerohash applied for a national trust bank charter with the OCC in March 2026. The OCC returned that application in July as materially deficient, which zerohash called an administrative step. It refiled a narrower application in August 2026; the public comment period closed on September 17 and a decision is pending.
In October 2026 zerohash integrated Tempo and took a validator seat on the network, the first infrastructure provider to do so, giving its clients access to Tempo's stablecoin rails, including Open USD.
